Netball Team wins Christchurch Schools Tournament

Today our netball teams took part in the local schools netball tournament. It was a nail biting day which started with a game against Christchurch Junior School for our A team. As we have not played them this season, we didn't know how the game was going to go. At half time, we were up at 1-0, by the final whistle the score stood at 1-1. The B team played an awesome game but narrowly missed out on the win. The A team continued well, winning all of their games as did Christchurch. Our B team played some excellent netball too, putting into practise all they have learnt from netball club. Our final match for the A team was against Burton, who had spent some of the tournament in the lead. The girls played an amazing game winning 5-1. At this point, it became clear that the winners would be judged on their goal differences. All of the players, parents and teachers assembled on the Astroturf at The Grange and waited for the final results. The B team results were announced first.....Christchurch Junior School were the winners in this category and had played well throughout the tournament. Finally, the A team results were announced....the scores for the first 2 teams were the same...24-24, the winners were ahead by 1 goal. Third place was announced...Burton School finished in third place. Finally the winners were announced, Mudeford Junior School had won the tournament and will now go forward to represent Christchurch Schools in the County finals later this year. We are all so proud of you, the parents had a nail biting and exciting afternoon, Mrs Rippon, Mrs Butler, Ashleigh, Jenna and Miss Armstrong are incredibly proud of everything all of you have achieved this year.
