This week, click on the 'Summer Term - Week 1' link - the lessons focus on revisiting revisiting angles with a challenge lesson on Friday. There are 5 lessons in total, but you can begin to attempt 3 of your choice or have a go at all 5 over the course of the week if you like.

First of all, look at lesson 1 'Vertically Opposite Angles.' Watch the 8 minute teaching video. Then click on the worksheet and give it a go in your Home Learning Book. The sheets follow the similar school structure of Fluency, Reasoning and Problem Solving.

Once complete, click on the answer sheet and mark your work.

The BBC have now commissioned a home-learning section for each year group and they have 5 maths lessons for the week. The lessons follow a similar structure to the White Rose tasks above - a video to watch and learn from, then some reading to learn from and then some game-style activities to practise on. The timetable for the week is as follows: 1) Rounding numbers 2) Rounding decimals 3) Negative numbers 4) Add and subtract integers 5) Challenge of the week. The link to the site is here

If you look at the 'other home learning' link on our school website on the Year 6 page for this week, you will see the timetable that the BBC have set up for other subjects for the week.

Another website that has been set-up this week by the Government is the National Academy. They will have a series of maths lessons for the week that will have a comprehensive review of all the Year 6 work on fractions. I haven't seen the website yet as it doesn't go live till Monday 20th April, but it likely to follow the same structure as the White Rose learning tasks, so if you feel like trying these then complete them in your Home Learning Book. The website link is here

During the week, a particular favourite mathematician of mine - Gareth Metcalfe - adds a new reasoning and problem solving lesson every morning at around 9am at Feel free to give this a try too. He has included all the previous lessons on the website.

If you have completed all the other tasks and would like to attempt more maths, another website that will be of use is If you scroll down to the Year 6 area there are booklets for children and guidance packs for parents. The packs are supposed to last for 4 weeks at a don't try to complete it all in one go.
