Six out of the eight classrooms at Mudeford Junior School were undersized according to the national formulae. Two of these classrooms were significantly below the minimum capacity stipulated by the government.
The governors of the school have worked alongside Dorset LA and have been able to agree the development of two new classrooms to replace the smallest two classrooms being used by the children. It has also been a priority to develop the security at the front of the school. The classrooms were available to use for the first time during the academic Year 2017 - 2018. The new classrooms and toilets were finished in March 2018. Plans for the newly added classrooms and reception can be seen below:
