Welcome to the Monthly Challenges page - OCTOBER
Another maths challenge this month. You know how much I enjoy maths
This time the challenge is based on a chess board and in particular the number of squares that are visible on a chess board.
You may say - "That's easy Mr. Goodlet, I can see 64 squares as it is an 8 x 8 grid!!"
But.... on closer inspection are you sure you cannot see more??? What about the whole chess board itself? That is a square, so that now makes 65 squares.
However, I think there are A LOT more squares than that. Can you find all the possible squares on a standard 8 x 8 chess board?
If you are finding this challenge tricky, then use the CountON website to give you a clue. It won't give you the solution but may point you in the right direction. Click here

Can you complete the challenge??
