Family SEAL review 2013

Family SEALs 2013

This year we’ve had 36 families who have attended the six week course of Family SEAL workshops. The feedback we have had from parents, grandparents and the children has been really positive.
The sessions run in the Extended Services Room, attached to the school, between 12.45—2.45 pm. The course follows the six topics taught in each year group of the school during the PSHE lessons— New Beginnings, Getting On and Falling Out, Going for Goals, Good to be Me, Relationships and Changes.
The aim of each session is to explain the SEAL (Social, Emotional, Aspects of Learning) skills that we teach in class and relating this to home life. The sessions start with around an 1 hour of adult based discussion, followed by refreshment time with the children, an activity based on the SEAL skills discussed and then a conclusion to the session.
Thank you to all those adults and children who participated in the sessions. Sessions will continue in 2014.
